There are just a few requirements in order to be able to install a steam shower.

The area in which it is going must be completely enclosed. If the shower is a modular unit, it must have a dome. If the shower is to be tiled, the ceiling must also be tiled. When sizing a steam generator for a tiled shower, the following is taken into account, the cubic feet of the shower and the type of tile being installed. A natural stone tile will have a higher absorption rate than a ceramic tile for instance so the size of the generator will typically have to be increased in a natural material application.

The shower must be completely enclosed with a shower door.

There must be an area near by for the steam generator to be located and there must also be a drain for the generator.
